10 Best Lego Star Wars Sets
Table of Contents
Poe’s X-Wing Fighter
We are starting our list of best Lego Star Wars sets with one of the coolest characters from Star Wars The Force Awakens, Poe Dameron who is here in his X-Wing Fighter . This is not your dad’s X-Wing! It’s one of the cool orange and black X-Wing’s and just like the movies the wings can open so it can go from flight mode to attack mode.
Poe’s X Wing fighter is a really cool set that has 717 Lego pieces and is aimed at children (and big kids as well of course) aged 8 to 14.
This set comes with four Lego figures. You of course get Poe Dameron himself. But it also comes with an X-Wing pilot, an X-Wing Ground Crew and coolest of all it comes with a little Lego, BB-8. BB-8 can actually sit in the X-Wing with Poe which we think is very cool.
TIE Advanced Prototype
The TIE Advanced Prototype is from the incredible Star Wars Rebels TV series which has been a huge hit with kids all over the world. This is a good sized set, but at the same time with 355 pieces it is not too overwhelming. So you do not have to let out a Chewbacca style scream when you open the box and see all the Lego pieces staring back at you!
The Tie Fighter is really cool and once built, your child can move the wings to go from flight mode to landing mode. It also has two cannons which can actually fire. This will come in handy when your child needs to put Ezra and Zeb in their place!
The set comes with three Lego Star Wars Rebels mini figures. These are The Inquisitor who comes with a tremendous double lightsaber, a Tie Fighter Pilot and an Imperial Officer. Like other similar sized Star Wars Lego sets the recommended age is 8 to 14.
Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle
Kylo Ren has to be one of coolest bad guys of the last decade! Now your child can help him bring the galaxy to its knees with his powerful Command Shuttle. This is a large set that contains over 1000 Lego pieces so it is recommended for kids aged 8 and up as it does require a little bit of skill to build.
The Command Shuttle is ready for battle as it has firing cannons and a weapons rack that contains all kinds of Lego weapons that will come in handy to capture Rey! The wings can be retracted when it is time to make a landing and then opened up when Kylo Ren needs to make the jump to hyperspace.
Included with this set are six Lego mini figures. The best one by far is Kylo Ren who comes with his own special lightsabre. A couple of First Order Crew Members and a Stormtrooper will help keep people in line. Plus a First Order Officer and General Hux are there to keep the attack organized!
First Order Transporter
Here we have another great set from Star Wars The Force Awakens, The First Order Transporter which with 792 Lego pieces is one very impressive vehicle.
This is a really cool Star Wars Lego set that as well as being a vehicle that can travel the galaxy at a reasonable amount of parsecs also serves as a playset. The loading bay doors can be lowered with a crank so your child can have fun making the two included Resistance Soldiers fight off the First Order.
In this set there are actually five First Order Lego mini figures. There is two Stormtroopers, two Flametroopers and these guys are kept in line by Captain Phasma, one of the more underrated characters from The Force Awakens. This is a really cool set and one that is just as much fun to build as it is play with.
Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle
Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle is one of the larger Lego Star Wars sets from The Rouge One movie. This large shuttle is made up with 863 Lego pieces so the recommended age is 9 – 14.
This shuttle has a lot going on as it has an opening cockpit and sides that can be opened as well. So it actually works really well as a playset as it has so many features. Such as the shuttle being able to fire its lasers!
As this is one of the more challenging sets you may have to give your child a hand in building it, but that is a huge part of the fun with Lego Star Wars sets.
In this set you get six Lego mini figures. Pilot and bad guy turned good, Bodhi Rook, awesome droid, K-250 and PAO who is bringing the fire power. There is also three Lego mini figures from the Empire! With Director Krennic, and two of the really cool looking Death Troopers. Anything with death in the name is something kids will love!
Rebel U-Wing Fighter
The U-Wing was one of the best vehicles in Rogue One and now your kids can have a lot of fun with this incredible, Rebel U-Wing Fighter. This set contains 659 Lego pieces which makes this a fun, but still challenging set to build. With a recommended age of 8 and up. This is a set that is perfect if you have a child who is starting to find smaller Lego sets easy to build.
This U-Wing Fighter is very action packed. It has a cockpit that can be opened so you can change the pilot. There is also opening bays which have guns in them and even a rocket launcher that actually fires!
As far as Lego mini figures go this is one of the best sets from the Rogue One range. It contains five figures and these are Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, a U-Wing Pilot, Rebel Trooper and Bistan.
Next up we have the AT-ST Walker which is made up from 440 Lego pieces and is recommended for ages 8 – 14. This particular AT-ST is from the most recent, Rogue One movie, but it would actually fit in with any incarnation of Lego Star Wars figures which is great.
Its legs can actually move so your child can have fun making the AT-ST chase down any Rebels that dare get in its way. The top hatch can be opened so you can put a Lego mini figure inside who then can look out at what is going on. It has a real working cannon so your child will be able to fire at their other Lego play sets. Which certainly gives extra coolness points to this set.
You get some really cool Lego mini figures with this set as well. There’s an AT-ST Pilot who will handle the attack (unless you have a Chewbacca who kicks him out) you also get two rebels to try and take it down. There’s a standard Rebel Trooper, but the real star of this set is Baze Malbus. Baze Malbus was one of the most popular characters from Rogue One and in this set you get him with his awesome gun and backpack.
Imperial Shuttle Tydirium
Next on our best Lego Star Wars sets list is the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium which is really cool as it is based on the original Star Wars Trilogy. This is a set that we imagine parents would have a really fun time building with their child and as it has 937 Lego pieces. You guys will have to make sure you are both one with the Force and work together.
The actual Imperial Shuttle Tydirium is very smart and features large wings which can be raised up for a safe landing and then put down when things get a little too hairy and the Rebels need to get out of there!
You get some fantastic Lego mini figures with this set. Han Solo, Princess Leia and Chewbacca are joined by two Rebel Soldiers. What we really like about these figures is that they are not just the standard looking ones. As this set is based on Return Of The Jedi. Lego have made sure the figures look just like they do from the Battle Of Endor scene.
In all honesty we would have lost more credibility than those who still claim Greedo shot first if we had not put Darth Vader on this list! Anyway this is not your traditional Lego set. It is still made with the same kind of Lego pieces, but instead of building a space ship or some kind of play-set. You are actually building Darth Vader himself which is really cool.
Darth Vader is made up of 160 Lego pieces and he is recommended for kids aged 9 – 14 and also those who have a tendency to lean towards the Dark Side.
What’s really awesome about this is that this Darth Vader is part of a series of large buildable Lego Star Wars figures. You get other characters such as Luke Skywalker, Jango Fett, Kylo Ren and Poe Dameron to name a few. These figures can be mixed and matched so your child can have fun making their ultimate Star Wars character.
Star Wars Millennium Falcon – Best Lego Star Wars Sets
We thought that we would end our best Lego Star Wars sets list with something truly epic and that is this Star Wars Millennium Falcon set. This particular model of the Millennium Falcon is from the Force Awakens movie and it is a fantastic representation.
The Millennium Falcon is one of the larger Lego Star Wars sets as it has 1329 pieces and has an age recommendation of 9 and up. This is a really great set and the top opens up so your child can use the inside of the Millennium Falcon as a really fun playset. This is certainly a Lego set that mom and dad might have to help with, but as we have said before that is a huge part of the fun with Lego.
There is a great selection of Lego mini figures in this set. You get Rey, Finn, BB-8 which is cool. But you also get Han Solo and Chewbacca as well. If that was not enough this set also comes with two villains for the good guys to battle.
May The Force Be With You!
